1971 Dodge Challenger Convertible big 426 Hemi upgrade under the hood
All the Mopar fans out there already know what kind of a rare sight it is to find a 1971 Dodge Challenger convertible. So it's especially nice to find one where there has been a large investment to make this like a time capsule back to '71. And more than just a show-quality presentation, this drop-top also has a big 426 Hemi upgrade under the hood.

The theme of this car could easily be a thoughtful muscle machine. The Hemi Orange paint has that exceptional high gloss shine that says there was not only an investment in a professional application but also the sheet metal, too. So the luster gets to show off everything, right down to how well those big doors fit. The other part that shows off this solid profile is the R/T dual side stripe package that seems to flow almost seamlessly from the headlights to the kick-up in the rear fender. These streaks are part of the dark and aggressive touches that also include the extra-wide rear spoiler and well-fitting black soft top. The R/T dual scoop hood, hood pins, fender vent trim, and wide integrated dual exhaust tips all add to the aggressive look, too. But more than just intimidating, a thoughtful classic like this is also premium with mirror-like chrome bumpers, new headlights, new taillights, fresh weather-stripping, and plenty more quality details. And we especially love the classic look of Rallye wheels with iconic Firestone Wide Oval raised white letter tires

If you like the way the roof looks, then you'll be excited to flip a switch and power it down to reveal a full black interior. Bucket seats, a center console, and plenty of wood-like trim give it a nice vintage look. It's even an air conditioning car (it will need further work to be functional.) There was a big investment everywhere to make sure this feels like you just drove it off the Mopar lot in 1971. Even the Chrysler AM radio is still cranking out tunes! This was the final year for Challenger convertibles, and there were less than 2,200 made. And that low figure gets even rarer when you account for convertibles born with V8 power like this one. So since this was a performance machine from day one, it's great to see all the right features inside to get your enthusiast pulse racing. That means a three-spoke sports steering wheel, a sporty round gauge package, and an iconic pistol-grip shifter.
