1966 Plymouth Barracuda Restomod Light Blue restomod 340 v8 auto
This 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Restomod is beautifully stock on the outside, has plenty of custom comfort in the A/C interior, and there's a potent V8 upgrade under the hood. But the overall appeal here is the dedication to a high-quality restoration that makes for such a well-done classic coupe. Plymouth was responsible for one of the most interesting cars on the road for the mid-60s. It combined a great hardtop profile, fastback style, and the largest wraparound rear window anyone had seen. It also has some of the most interesting sheet metal lines, and you can see it all so well here because this coupe is quite crisp and clean. It was bought as a project car and underwent a multi-year restoration. The owner had always wanted one of these distinct Barracudas, and you can see in the overall execution that his priority was quality over price. There's a beautiful glow to the factory-correct light blue paint, the panels have the crisp lines of quality, and the chrome bumpers and full trim have a terrific shine. You can only see the slightest signs of this being responsibly driven during the few years since it completed the full restoration. Instead what really stands out is a dedication to factory-style on the outside - right down to the color-matched steel wheel with stock wheel covers. The darker blue interior is quite stylish against the light blue exterior. The upholstery, carpeting, headliner, clear gauges, and dash have a quality look. The whole presentation has a nice vintage style, right down to the working dome lights and fold-down rear seats. But you can also tell this was made for modern driving. There are modern conveniences like a cup holder center console, Kilmat insulation, an AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth, and cold-blowing air conditioning. And this was built to be a better driver with a Lokar-style floor shifter, auxiliary readouts, a prominently mounted AutoMeter tach, and a wood-rimmed Grant sports steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. Under the hood is a terrific upgrade.
