1967 Porsche 912 Manual Runs and Drives
The car runs and drives. It has a new paint job in its original paint color code, single stage. It looks nice and gets compliments but not perfect! It runs and drives down the street, turns, starts right up...but will need more love and TLC to bring to the next level and should be considered a running driving project. Great car for someone who wants a decent looking car not full of rust.

Exterior wise the car has a new single stage paint job and it looks good but don't expect perfection! The body was very straight before paint and rust free. If you wanted to take it to the next level it would be easy to do. Has Porsche alloys which I believe to be knock offs, but I'm not sure. Has a new set of tires as well. Glass is all in good shape with no cracks, rubber seals around glass are original and older. Rear engine lid latch needs to be freed up so it can latch properly and hood releases with leaver but does not pop up as it should. .
The interior looks good but will need tlc. Has an original set of seats in decent shape..driver side was redone and passenger side a bit older but acceptable. Carpeting looks brand new. Dash is original and overall good aside from speaker grill which is cracked. Original steering wheel is there but horn does not work. Headliner is in fair shape as well as rear view mirror. Radio does not work. Headlights, tail lights and turn signals do not work...original wiring all there but needs to be sorted out. The speedometer is the only gauge that appears to be working. Seat rails are missing so seats are not bolted down.

Mechanically, the car was freshened up and now runs and drives. Engine runs but carburetors pop. I believe accelerator pumps in the carbs may need attention. Fuel tank was removed and cleaned out. Engine fires up first shot and idles well but seems low on power. I have run engine number and this is a Porsche Industrial Engine 616-33 comparable to a 356 engine I'm told. The engine number you can see in the photos is 48989094. Transmission shifts well and overall feels ok. Brake were cleaned up and there is a decent pedal on the car but should really be gone over completely. Rust wise, the car has been a California all it's life and doesn't have that east coast rot which is very good. The original undercoating is still there but is peeling off. I don't see any gaping holes or rot on the floor although it is brown on the bottom. Trunk compartment is clean overall as you can see in the photos. It steers fine and drives ok with it's new tires, although definitely not ready for the Nurburgring yet. The car has lots of potential.
