1982 Chevrolet K5 Blazer with the Silverado package. Originally silver with a professionally done color change to Hugger Orange with silver roof and a slick painted silver removable hardtop. A 6.0 LS out of a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 157k miles was installed about 3 years ago and has just been completely refreshed. This is an exceptionally nice K5.
This 1982 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is powered by a 6.0-liter Vortec V8 mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic gearbox, and it is finished in Hugger Orange over gray vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a dual-range transfer case, a removable silver hardtop, a 4″ suspension lift, 15″ Rally wheels, Warn locking front hubs, chrome bumpers, tubular side steps, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, and a Panasonic head unit linked to a Kenwood amplifier and Kicker speakers. It fetures chrome bumpers, tubular side steps, polished trim, a receiver hitch, front tow hooks, tinted windows, and a power-operated tailgate window. The 15″ Rally wheels measure 12″ wide and wear 33×12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires. A spare tire is mounted under the rear floor. The 4″ suspension lift was installed by my cousin and Rancho 9000 shocks and steering stabilizers were installed in 2023. The cabin features high-back bucket seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in gray vinyl. Appointments include air conditioning, power windows and locks, a lockable center storage console, and a Panasonic head unit linked to a Kenwood amplifier, Kicker speakers, and a rear-mounted subwoofer. The power-operated rear window glass is slow to raise. The 6.0-liter V8 was fitted with a Howards Cams camshaft and dual electric cooling fans. Work in preparation for the sale included replacing the crankshaft, water pump, knock sensors, flex plate, gaskets, wires, belts, hoses, and the rod, main, and camshaft bearings, resurfacing the cylinder heads, as well as installing a Melling high volume oil pump, an ATI Super Damper harmonic balancer, and ARP head studs. Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a 700R4 four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
